When James Roadnight stumbled upon the legendary Keanu Reeves in the bar area of their selected wedding venue, he thought of an unthinkable idea—to make the actor a surprising gift for their celebration. When the opportunity presented itself to invite Keanu Reeves to their wedding aisle, James Roadnight seized the chance right away. Coincidentally discovering the iconic actor in the bar of Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire, England – which happened to be where James’ wedding took place – James engaged in a brief chat with Reeves and extended a heartfelt invitation for him to join the festivities.
Of course, the couple didn’t know if The Matrix star would accept the deal or not. “It was cool that my husband had spoken to him!” James’s bride-to-be, Nikki Roadnight, exclaimed. Eventually, much to James’ delight, Reeves graciously agreed to the invitation, despite his extremely busy filming schedule at the time. The presence of the legendary actor undoubtedly added a touch of magic to their wedding, turning it into an incredible experience.
Not only attending the ceremony, but Reeves also took the time to interact with guests and took photos with them creating cherished moments that would be remembered for a lifetime.
Nikki chuckled as she shared the detail of her mother, Jo, who took photos of the memorable moment and playfully encouraged everyone to yell “Speed!” while taking a photo—a lighthearted homage to one of Reeves’ earlier movies, Speed. Looking back on the wholesome moment with Reeves, she shared, “We had a good laugh about it, considering it’s one of his older films! We are big fans.”
