Lucy Illingworth, 13, is ʙʟɪɴᴅ, ᴀᴜᴛɪsᴛɪᴄ, and one of the most gifted pianists we have ever heard. The young girl cannot speak verbally yet delivers fantastic stories as her fingers contact the piano keys. People stop what they are doing to listen to her play as soon as she starts.
Candice Flynn, Lucy’s mother, saw her daughter’s unique talent at a young age and assisted her with cultivating it. Lucy earned first place on the British music competition show The Piano when she was 12 years old. She won the hearts of her countrymen and the respect of millions.
Lucy’s Mom Says Her Daughter Is A Gift
Candice told Channel 4 that Lucy learned to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on a toy piano when she was very little. She described it as a lovely moment. Even though her daughter’s life is unique, she desires the same things that other mothers do.
“As Lucy’s Mum, all I really want for her is to be happy, safe, secure, and to continue just being Lucy. I’ve always maintained that if one day Lucy decided music wasn’t for her anymore, I’d respect that decision! Honestly, though, I can’t see that ever happening, as music and Lucy are soulmates connected in every way possible,” she told Channel 4.
Candice believes her daughter is unique in several ways. Her musical gift stems from deep within her spirit. Lucky transforms into someone completely different when she plays the piano.
She shared with Channel 4: “Honestly, I just believe Lucy is music – she has musical notes flowing through her blood.”
