Woman’s Hair Fell Out, So Her Boyfriend Grew A 2ft Mane For A Wig After Just 6 Months Of Dating

Cody Ennis, a 31-year-old engineer from Waterford, Michigan, spent nearly four years growing his hair out to create a wig for his girlfriend, Hannah Hosking, who suffers from alopecia.

Hannah, a 17-year-old content creator, was diagnosed with alopecia at age seven, leading to progressive hair loss over the years.

By 2018, her condition had advanced significantly, causing her to lose not only her scalp hair but also her eyebrows and eyelashes.

To cope, she decided to shave off the remaining hair and started wearing wigs.

Cody and Hannah met in November 2019.

Despite her baldness, Cody was instantly drawn to Hannah, even joking that her bald head meant her hair wouldn’t tickle him during cuddles.

Just six months into their relationship, Cody made an extraordinary offer.

He asked Hannah, “If I grew my hair out for you, how long would you want it?”

Hannah, thinking it was a playful question, replied, “I want 30 inches because I love long hair.”

Cody took the challenge seriously and embarked on his hair-growing journey to her surprise in May 2020.

Cody’s dedication to the task was unwavering.

He sought advice from Hannah’s niece, a cosmetologist, and followed meticulous hair care routines.

He used high-quality shampoos and conditioners, watched online tutorials, and even wore a satin bonnet to bed to prevent breakage and frizz.

“As soon as it started getting near his chin, he was like, ‘I need to take serious care of this,’” Hannah recalled.

By October 2023, Cody’s hair had reached an impressive 29 inches.

“I started to put his hair into sections to cut it but then we both got nervous that I was going to cut it wrong so I asked my cousin who is a barber to do it,” Hannah shared.

“We wrapped each individual section we cut off in paper towels, bagged them up, and sent them on their way,” she added.

They sent the sections to a wig maker, Florida Fancies, who crafted a beautiful lace-front wig for $899.

On January 6, Hannah received the wig in the mail and she was overjoyed.

“When the wig arrived it felt like a dream, I couldn’t believe it was here,” she said. “When I first looked at myself in the mirror I felt loved and so much love for him.”

“I figured if I grew my hair out for her she couldn’t break up with me,” Cody joked.

To surprise Cody, who was asleep when the package arrived, Hannah put on the wig and woke him up.

Hannah plans to cherish the wig, using it sparingly to ensure it lasts as long as possible.

“It won’t be an everyday wig for me because I want it to last as long as possible,” she explained.

Cody expressed his wish for Hannah to wear the wig on their wedding day, although he has yet to propose officially.

Reflecting on Cody’s incredible gesture, Hannah said, “It feels surreal, it feels like a movie.

I can’t believe he dedicated so long of his life and his time into doing this for me.

It makes me feel very comforted and safe to know I have someone in my life who is willing to go this extra mile and go above and beyond.”

Cody’s selfless act proves that true love knows no bounds and that sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are the ones grown from the heart.
