Halloween is an American horror series that includes 13 films, novels, comic books, video games, and more.
It became incredibly popular due to its infamous villain, Michael Myers. Curtis has played Laurie Strode, an iconic role, in multiple Halloween films.
Her portrayal of Strode is regarded as the prototypical example of a ‘final girl,’ a female heroine who is the sole survivor of a film’s monster or k*ller.
Fans fell in love with the actress and the character with each performance she gave as Strode.
She wrote about it: “I have tried over the years to inculcate those aspects of Laurie’s character into my own, to carry that mantle and represent survivors of all types of unimaginable horror and trauma, pain and suffering, who stand up to tyranny and oppression – real and imagined.”
Curtis recently reprised the role as filmmaker David Gordon Green revived the horror classic with Halloween (2018), Halloween K*lls (2021), and Halloween Ends (2022).
Halloween Ends is considered to be the final film in the franchise, hence it marked Curtis’ final appearance as the legendary character.
As it came to a close, it was difficult for both fans and Curtis.
In a video posted on the Halloween Ends Instagram page, Curtis sat down and listened to positive words from followers.
Someone exclaimed, “The greatest final girl in the world.”
Another person wrote, “Such an iconic, formative scream queen.”
“You mean a lot to me, horror fans, and film fans all over the world,” a third told the actress.
After listening to the heartfelt words, Curtis was brought to tears as she said: “Thank you guys.
“Turn this f***ing off, I can’t… It’s obviously hard, all of it is hard saying goodbye and nobody wants to say that. So, I won’t say that.”
She continued: “I am just going to say thank you.
“It’s a legacy that I’m very, very proud is attached to me and one that I treat with a lot of respect. So, Happy Halloween everybody, God bless you all. Thank you for everything.”
