This Bride Shaves Her Head At Her Wedding In A Loving Tribute To Her Husband Who Is Fighting Cancer

Joan and Craig Lyons had a wedding that was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Joan did something very brave and loving for her groom, who was dying of pancreatic cancer. She shaved her head at their wedding reception in Liverpool to show her support and solidarity. The pictures taken by Kimberley and Anthony Struth of Struth Photography 1 capture the emotion and beauty of the moment.

Joan and Craig had known each other since they were 14 years old, but Joan didn’t know that Craig was in love with her. He kept his feelings to himself for over thirty years, until 18 months ago, when he finally confessed his love to her. They decided to get married, but they had to hurry because Craig’s cancer was terminal. He had only a few months left to live.
In a beautiful act of solidarity, Joan decided to cut off her hair after she walked down the aisle with her new husband. “It was obviously the first time I had seen Joan without her hair, and she looked beautiful—absolutely stunning,” he told the Daily Mail. “She is the woman of my dreams.” Joan donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that creates wigs for children who’ve lost their hair during cancer treatment.
Craig was amazed and touched by Joan’s gesture. He hugged her and kissed her, and they danced together to celebrate their love, knowing that they didn’t have much time left. They made their wedding day a memorable and meaningful one.
