3-Year-Old With Terminal Brain Cancer Has ‘Best Christmas Ever’ Three Months Early

Receiving the news of terminal brain cancer is incredibly tough, especially for a child. Ellis Price, just three years old, got this heartbreaking diagnosis, indicating he won’t be with us this Christmas. To ensure he didn’t miss out, his parents granted him his biggest wish three months early: The Best Christmas Ever.

In September 2019, young Ellis Price was found to have a brain tumor. Despite undergoing two significant surgeries and chemotherapy at the same time, he faced complications. Although he could go home after each operation, one treatment left him paralyzed. Ellis, as described by his parents, Laura and Ashley, is a real fighter who never let this setback bring him down.

“He wanted to be independent. He got himself up and down; he would never give up.” Laura said. “To see him struggle through what he has been through, all while remaining positive, is inspiring to all of us.”

Regrettably, his health kept getting worse. In July, the family received the heartbreaking news that there was no more medical help that could rescue their son.

To make the most of the time left, they shifted his birthday celebration to the hospital, throwing a heartfelt party by his bedside. Realizing he might not be there for Christmas, his parents also opted to organize an extraordinary Christmas bash three months ahead.

The festivities featured little helpers, ponies decked out as reindeer, a snow machine spreading artificial snow around, and, of course, a special visit from Santa.

They enjoyed a complete Christmas feast and watched festive movies inside a tent set up in the backyard.

“This is Ellis’ last Christmas so we’ve rolled a lifetime of celebrations into one,” said Laura.

During treatment, Ellis became friends with another boy, Reuben Robb, who had the same condition. Reuben’s mom, Elizabeth, shared on Facebook, requesting Christmas cards for Ellis. The post says:

“This beautiful lady (Laura Pearman) and her beautiful precious boy are spending their last days together as Ellis’s condition has become much worse and he has very little time left.

“You are all aware how we first hand know the pain this amazing lady had to endure. Laura Pearman has decided to have Christmas Day for Ellis next week as it will be her last. She has very kindly asked if anyone would like to send him a Christmas card to fill a wall or small gift this would be absolutely wonderful. Please if you can help we are so very thankful. Ellis also has two older sister’s and think it’s very important to involve her in his memory. Thank you in advance. On his special Christmas day, Ellis received letters from people all over the UK wishing him a happy Christmas.”

The reaction was amazing, and Ellis got video messages from a few players of Leeds United, which is his preferred soccer team.

“So many people have come forward. It shows how good people can really be.” said Ashley.

Ellis’s parents are thrilled they could provide him with the best early Christmas possible. They’re grateful for the kindness and love they’ve received from people they don’t even know.
