“It’s Magical” Al Roker gushes about his first-ever granddaughter

The NBC Today’s weather presenter Al Roker is having the time of his life, as he welcomes his first-ever granddaughter. On the recent Monday’s episode, the weatherman could barely contain his excitement talking about his precious grandchild, Sky Clara Laga.

Sku’s parents are Roker’s daughter Courtney Roker and her husband Wesley Laga. She was born on July 3.

Roker also updated that his daughter’s little family was “doing well” at the time. Here’s what he got to write on Instagram about Sky.

“It is magical, it really is. You know, Courtney had a [cesarian section], so she’s struggling a little bit with that. And Wes, you know, I think the gravity of being a dad. But he still has that buoyant personality.” AL Roker described his feelings after becoming a grandfather for the first time ever.

“The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing’ and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect,” he jubilantly added.

Roker also revealed that Sky was a “great sleeper”, and that they all shared the same sleep schedule: sleep four hours, then wake up, go to the restroom, and then sleep another four.

According to the weather reporter, he wasn’t the only one happy with the addition of Sky either. His 20-year-old son, Nick, was also “enthralled” to hold the little baby on his arm.

Welcome to the family, Sky!
