This Stuttering Boy First Saw a Toilet Flush at 5 — At 66, He’s a Millionaire TV Host & Devoted Family Man

This youngster was from a poor home, but he had enormous goals that he believed in.

He chased his ambitions fiercely and succeeded despite several challenges.

The youngster has grown up to be a well-known comedian, TV personality, author, and businessman.

This African-American child understood at a young age that he wanted to be on television. He lived by the concept of dreaming big and believing that one day he will achieve. As a result, despite his stuttering, the child clung to his ambition of appearing on television.

The kid was born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, to coal miner Jesse Harvey and Sunday school teacher Eloise Vera Harvey. The youngster grew raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and it still holds a particular place in his heart.

The boy’s path to success was not simple, but he worked tirelessly to achieve his goals. When he was ten years old, the youngster scribbled on a piece of paper that he wanted to be on television someday. He did not appear on television until he was 38. He is now a New York Times best-selling book, Emmy Award-winning performer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and radio personality.

The youngster has flourished despite all odds. He was born to low-income parents, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dreams. His father, a father of five children, earned $5 a day as a coal miner. The child also worked on his uncle and grandfather’s farm in West Virginia until he was sixteen. He explained:

“I grew up poor, failed out of school, and have been homeless. I lived in my car for three years. I received the first automobile in my name, a secondhand car, at the age of 38.”

The boy’s family was so impoverished that he didn’t see a functional toilet with a flush until he was five. Nonetheless, the youngster achieved great success. He told God that if he was successful, he would thank Him and glorify His name. Now, as a global icon, the youngster keeps his pledge to God by thanking his audience at the conclusion of each presentation.

When he was homeless, he hid in a hotel restroom to wash up, and it occurred to him that he was at his lowest moment ever.

Steve Harvey is the youngster who went from rags to riches. Steve’s comic career began in 1985 when he performed at an open mic comedy night and astonished the crowd. The next day, he resigned his job to become a comedian, but this decision caused him to split from his wife. The comic found himself without a wife or a job, living on as low as $50 a week.

Steve didn’t start professional comedy until he was 27 years old, after quitting his job to pursue his dream of being a comic. He admits to being homeless between the ages of 30 to 33, living in his vehicle. He now shares his struggle and success story to inspire others not to give up on their aspirations.

Steve didn’t even own the automobile he lived in. His father had given him an old, secondhand automobile. When Steve eventually appeared on television, he utilized the money he received from the channel to purchase a vehicle at the age of 38. He recalled that when he was homeless, he had nothing, but today he is doing well for himself.

Shortly after this tough period, doors began to open for Steve. He won a national comedy competition in 1990, which led to a high-profile performance on “Showtime at the Apollo” in 1993, followed by a sitcom.

From that point forward, the comedian’s possibilities expanded. He is now a television regular who has his own show and is regarded as Hollywood’s busiest man.

Steve is happily married and has a wonderful family life.

Steve is married to Marjorie Harvey. He first encountered Marjorie in 1987 at a Memphis comedy club and was astounded by her. Marjorie arrived late for the concert, but as she entered, Steve glanced at her and said, “I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day.”

However, the two lost contact following their initial encounter. They reconnected years later through a mutual acquaintance and have been together ever since. Steve and Marjorie dated for a year before the comic proposed. They exchanged vows on June 25, 2007.

On their 15th wedding anniversary, Steve shared his emotions with Marjorie, confessing that she made him happy and brought him calm. He remarked that Marjorie handled parenthood admirably and was a better parent than him. “You are the single greatest reason, aside from God’s grace, that I am where I am today. “You are the one,” he concluded.

Today, Steve’s proudest achievement is his family of seven children and seven grandchildren. He is deeply committed to his family and even stated on Facebook that his grandchildren are the reason he gets up every morning to accomplish what he does. Steve and Marjorie have built a house and family life that he values and enjoys.
