A stranger got accidentally added to a family WhatsApp group chat while the relatives were getting updates about the new member they were going to welcome soon. He even donated to the diaper fund.
While being a part of family group chats is annoying for many, most of us don’t leave the groups to make our older generations of the family happy. A man who got accidentally added to a family group chat did an adorable thing that is winning the hearts of netizens.
Zachary Garrett was rushing his pregnant wife to the hospital to welcome their third child while trying to keep his family updated through a WhatsApp group chat. When Zach was posting photos of his wife sitting on the hospital bed as she prepared to give birth, a message from an unfamiliar face suddenly popped up on his chat.
While sharing a photo of himself, the stranger introduced himself and said, “Don’t know how I got added to this group ’cause I don’t think I know anyone in it! LOL But anywho CONGRATS ZACH!! My name is Bobby by the way, shoot me your cash app info and I will donate to the diapers.”
Though Zach felt embarrassed when Bobby’s message popped up, he was relieved to see him handling the situation calmly.
In a bizarre twist, it turned out that Bobby had inherited Zach’s old phone number and was added to the group chat accidentally by Zach’s grandmother.
“Anytime another life comes to us is a blessing and a beautiful thing! Just happy to see people happy!” Bobby wrote.
“I’m serious tho, I will donate to the diapers cuz you can’t ever have enough LOL,” he added.
Zach took to Facebook to share screenshots of the chat. “So unexpected, but people are good. Thank you Bobby!” he wrote.
The post has gone viral on social media. It has received over 44,000 shares and 15,000 likes. While many netizens showered their blessings on the newborn, others praised Bobby for his heartwarming gesture. Here are some of the reactions:
A user wrote, “Things like this give me hope in society! Thank you for this example!!” While another said, “Aww…CONGRATULATIONS to the new parents, and Bobby – may our world be blessed with more people with your outlook my friend..Outstanding! Peace.”
