Parents Went All The Way To Remove Daughter’s Huge Birthmark, And The Result Is Satisfying

Parents are naturally inclined to shield their children from harm, and in an exceptional act of love, Vienna Brookshaw’s parents did exactly that. Born in April 2021 in the United Kingdom to Celine Casey, Vienna was immediately noticed by her mother to have a distinctive birthmark on her forehead, situated between her eyebrows.

This birthmark, known as a congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN), posed no risk to Vienna’s physical health. However, Casey harbored concerns about the potential emotional impact it could have on Vienna as she matured. CMN occurs when a child is born with a cluster of benign pigment-producing cells, which had the potential to expand as Vienna aged.

Vienna’s condition is considered uncommon, leaving uncertainties regarding the extent to which the birthmark might enlarge with time. Casey was determined to prevent any possible difficulties that might arise for Vienna because of this condition as she navigated her growing years.

Concerned about the future, Casey promptly sought medical advice, hoping to explore options for the birthmark’s removal. She feared that it might lead Vienna to resent her parents later on.

,“We enjoy watching her grow on her journey, and we look forward to the day she grows up and can express her own thoughts. We’d love her no matter what, even if we kept the birthmark,” said a concerned Casey.

Casey’s motivation to have Vienna’s birthmark removed stemmed from the unwanted attention from the public She observed that people would often stare at Vienna, treating her distinctly from other infants. This observation fueled her resolve to pursue the removal of the birthmark.

The National Health Service (NHS) didn’t agree to the request for surgery, adhering to their policy of not performing procedures deemed unnecessary for physical health. They classified the surgery as cosmetic rather than critical.

In response, Casey initiated a fundraising effort to secure the required funds through alternative means. Remarkably, within a mere 24 hours, kind-hearted donors contributed $52,000. However, this sum fell short of the target due to a surge in hospital expenses, a repercussion of the COVID-19 pandemic. The parents need $27,000 more

As a result, the family turned once again to GoFundMe, appealing to the community’s generosity to amass the additional funds needed for their daughter’s birthmark removal surgery.

“Everyone has things they feel unsure about in their body. The doctor said it wouldn’t affect Vienna’s mental health right now. But we didn’t see it that way. She’s starting school at three, and little kids are clever; they notice things like that,” Casey explained.

Vienna, now a joyful two-year-old, no longer has her birthmark, leaving behind only a faint scar on her forehead. Casey, her devoted mother, frequently shares updates on Vienna’s recovery, always highlighting her daughter’s stunning beauty.

Following the removal of the birthmark, the family visited a surgeon in London to assess the healing of Vienna’s scar, ensuring no further interventions were necessary. Today, Vienna is thriving, free from the need for any additional medical attention.

We extend our heartfelt wishes for Vienna’s continued health and happiness. Please feel free to pass along Vienna’s inspiring journey to others!
