A retiring pilot found a beautiful way to honor his loved ones during his very last flight with Delta Air Lines. First, the 64-year-old gave a touching speech to his passengers. He included a sweet shout-out to his family members on the flight: his wife, his daughter, his daughter-in-law, and his two sons (both of whom have followed in their dad’s footsteps). Then, the elderly man revealed that he had a special surprise for his wife, Karin, who was standing right next to him throughout the speech.
“My wife has been with me for almost 43 years,” the retiring pilot announced. “And she’s been my wingman throughout the whole time. And today I wanna give her a set of wings.”

Karin was clearly touched as her husband handed her the “wings,” which were actually a lapel pin. Everyone applauded after the romantic gesture! The retiring pilot’s daughter captured the beautiful moment on camera and uploaded the video to TikTok, where it’s been going viral. Commenters can’t get enough of the sweet couple!
