Bindi Irwin showed us all how her late father, Steve, loved all animals. The 25-year-old star of Crikey! The Irwins posted a cute video on Instagram where her father took care of the Australia Zoo.
In the video, the famous Crocodile Hunter rode his bike to two kookaburras that were fighting and calmly separated the angry birds. He joked around and told the birds to be nice to each other at his zoo.
“This #flashback makes my heart happy,” Bindi wrote on the video. “Dad’s kindness and love for all species will live on forever.”
“Now stop it. You guys need to make up. You are friends now,” Steve said softly as the kookaburras kept biting each other. Then Steve made kookaburra noises to make them calm down, and he solved the problem peacefully.
“Crikey,” Steve said before he rode his bike again. “Day’s work involves putting out fires, stopping fires, and playing with the gators, koalas, and kangaroos.”
Terri, Steve’s wife, also wrote on her daughter’s post, saying how important the moment was and how Steve cared for every animal at the Australia Zoo. Steve, who died in 2006 when he was 44, left a lasting legacy of love and passion for wildlife.
The Irwin family has grown over the years, with Bindi having her 2-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior, in 2021, with her husband Chandler Powell. In a recent interview, Bindi said how thankful she was for her daughter and how she struggled with endometriosis. She also asked people to be kind when they talk about family planning.
Bindi also shared how much she liked her younger brother Robert Irwin’s girlfriend, Rorie Buckey, and wrote a sweet Instagram post about her. The couple made their first public appearance together at the Australian premiere of the new Mission: Impossible movie.
“Sweetest soul, beautiful friend, I love her dearly, and you’ll usually see Grace just following her around because she adores her,” Bindi wrote with love.
